PR Card Renewal

The PR Card renewal in Canada process will take a minimum of 49 days and, if required, can be done quicker with urgent processing. A fee of $50 has to be paid for PR renewal. To pay for a PR Card renewal, you must pay online and print the receipt to be attached to your application.

An identification document has an identification number, an expiry date, and your name, portrait, and birthday. This could be a:

If you are inside Canada and your PR card has expired, and no one has taken away your PR status, you are presumed to be a Canadian Permanent Resident, and it is legal for you to work inside Canada.

Yes, it is possible that you can leave Canada while your PR application is in process. It would help to meet all the admissibility rules before being allowed back into Canada. If one wants to leave Canada but wants to return, one must have all the required documents to enter the country.

Canada does not allow Permanent Residents to renew or replace their permanent resident cards. At the same time, outside of Canada because the CIC will not mail a PR card to a non-Canadian address.
